We all know that a good bed and a good night’s sleep is vital for our own wellbeing and there is no doubt that it is the same for our furry friends. Furthermore, your dog will spend more time in his bed (hopefully) than we humans do.
For your Cockapoo, his bed is so much more than just a place to rest at the end of the day. It is his ‘safe place’, and somewhere to send him when you need him to go and lie down while people are coming and going. It’s somewhere for him to chill out with his favorite toy or chew and it’s his very own den.

Why is a Good Dog Bed Essential for your Cockapoo?
All dogs, particularly our sensitive Cockapoos, need somewhere that is their space and their space alone. Somewhere he can go when he wants peace and quiet and somewhere that he knows he won’t be disturbed. This is even more important if you have children as even dogs need a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. If you like, your dog taking himself off to his bed with a toy is the canine equivalent to you taking a coffee and a book to your favorite armchair.
So, you can see it is very important to invest in the right bed for your dog. Just like with humans, there is no ‘one size fits all’ perfect bed. Just as your friend may swear by his memory foam mattress while you may prefer your pocket sprung version. Bearing this in mind, you have to choose a bed that suits your pooch, your home, and also your pocket.
It is also extremely important that the bed is practical, waterproof, and washable as his bed is also likely to be the place that you will send your Cockapoo to stay while he dries off after a bath or a wet and muddy walk. A non-washable fluffy dog bed will soon become damp and smelly, and something that your dog will not want to lie on, and you won’t want in your home.
With so many products on the market today it can be a daunting choice and you may end up buying several beds before you find ‘the one’ but don’t worry we have done the leg work for you in this article by extensively researching the market, gathering owners experiences and even trialing some ourselves.
My own Cockapoo was, as a pup, a prolific destroyer of beds so I have personally tried several types.

This fabulous economical bed also offers a four-inch memory foam base inside a removable machine washable cover. Again, the bed comes vacuum-packed and fluffs up to full size in approximately five minutes. The Petmaker is a nice sturdy bed and whilst it does not have a waterproof internal liner the foam can be spot cleaned and for this price, you can afford to replace the bed often if necessary.
